Who doesn’t love the idea of eating something indulgent AND having less stress too? Chocolate fits that profile perfectly because it provides us with a pleasurable experience as we savor it AND it contains powerful antioxidants that can help our body fight off the damage from stress.
At the Oscars festivities in Los Angeles, I attended the GBK Luxury Oscar Lounge that was also attended by such celebs as Jane Lynch, Jacki Weaver, Cloris Leachman, Jaime Pressly, William Shatner, Teri Hatcher, Cheech Marin, Malin Akerman, Regina King, Lauren Velez, Terell Owens, Niecy Nash, Tony Shalhoub, Tim Daley, Natasha Henstridge, Michael Vartan, Maria Menounos and Chris Harrison, to name a few. Several amazing companies participated and while I enjoyed meeting them all, there were a few that really jumped out at me that relate directly to stress management.
By far one of my favorite companies there was Cocopotamus. They are a chocolate company and with flavors like Cupcake, Hottie, Blame Canada, Hang Loose and Razzmanian Devil, you can’t help but want to indulge over and over again! And the celebs most definitely did. Check out their celebrity photos here. But not only does Cocopotamus have exceptional chocolate, their company statement is also wonderful — so much so that I had to include it here because it is so much like Happy Hour Effect’s mission to live with joy and to celebrate every single day:
“Our philosophy is to live with vision, humor, and joy. Our vision is of a luxuriously delicious yet down-to-earth line of all-natural, gourmet chocolate truffles. Our sense of humor dictates that we keep it fun & keep it real. Using the best ingredients from the many cultures that make up the new America — and the world. Our passion for living everyday joy — through family, friends & food, through the seasons of each year, and the seasons of our lives. That’s the joy infused in our chocolate. The joy that comes from using true vision to find your passion, to live it, and to share it. Because after all, joy is not some big, elusive quest. Joy is life & love, family & neighbors, friends & fudge.”
Isn’t that about the best philosophy a company could have — plus they make chocolate?!
I had the pleasure of meeting founders, Max and Ally, and trying several of their varieties of truffles and they were even so sweet as to send me home a little package of them for my daughter. You could most definitely see and hear the joy in their lives as we spoke — and they have a clear passion for chocolate that also happens to taste amazing!
